We Couldn't Even Count the Beats

Our sweet Lilly May had her first helicopter ride and it certainly was not for fun. I was getting Lilly ready for bed, changed her diaper and put her Owlet Smart Sock on like normal. Not two minutes later, the Smart Sock notified me that her heart rate was too high. It was 260 bpm.
I put my ear to her chest to see if I could hear or feel her heartbeat. Lilly’s heart rate sounded like a machine gun. It was so fast we couldn’t even count the beats. We rushed her to the ER and from there she was airlifted to Chapel Hill. At one point her heart rate reached 305 bpm, which is 5 beats per second. Lilly was diagnosed with SVT (supraventricular tachycardia), which is actually fairly common in infants but can be hard to spot and has been put on medication.
We are so thankful that we had her Owlet Smart Sock to help keep us informed and we will continue to use it every day! It provides so much peace of mind, especially after what we’ve been through.
